I have looked through other posits bur none seem to answer my problems.

I am using Hostgator but I have the same problem on other hosting providers.

I Installed wp cloner n folder under root domain
mydomain/cloner
In the root is a live wp site not one I wish to clone
If I disable the .htaccess then I can call the cloner but get the useless error 500.
If i point a sub domain at this folder I can run the software
cloner.mydomain.com

The second problem,
the WP root folder
what should the this be
the blog I wish to copy is in mydomain.com/blog

should it be the url or the server path /home/user/public_html/blog

Problem 3
there can be no trailing / to the WP root folder field, otherwise I can not press next.
If I make sure no trailing / I can press next and progress but immediately get an error message.
saying file pathwp_config.php not found there is no / between the path and the file name

Please how do I resolve these issues?

If you get the error wp_config.php not found then you have not upload the cloner into the right place because its need to be where the blog it is installed. However if you can PM me with your FTP/cPanel login details i will take a look and fix it for you. Please let me know if you have more question or help.
