Hi everyone:)

I am having trouble installing the Adtrackz script and any help will be greatly appreciated:)

I keep getting this message when trying to install:
Adtrackz Installation
Testing Mysql.....success!
Testing file permission on adtrackz.....success!
Testing FTP information.....success!

Testing server path information.....
Error
Please correct the following error:

Couldn't change current directory to the basedir: public_html. You may have entered the wrong server path during setup. The path you entered is: /public_html/

If you entered the correct path information, then please click here for instructions.
Then Enter the correct root directory path. Then it tells me I did not enter my email when I know I did.

I don't understand why that is, because that is my directory path!??

Thanks for any help in advance:)

Tom

After reading another post by "Webmaster", I see that you tell him that Adtrackz will not work on a sub-domain such as Hostgator. So then I have one main domain and many many sub-domains that do not appear as a sub-domain on the web address. That is why I do that and it is cheaper.
How can Adtrackz be adapted to work and find the main root directory?

Is it possible for me to pay a programmer to adapt the script or will it just never work that way?

Any help you give will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Tom,

Did you have to do anything special when entering your FTP Address on the install?

I keep getting an error that it can't connect to the FTP Server. I've connected a thousand time with FileZilla and Dreamweaver, but AdTrackz won't let me for some reason.

I've tried adding "ftp.","ftp://ftp.", and even used the IP address, but no luck . . . any advice?

Thanks,

Sean

Hi Sean

If you are using Hostgator as your web hosting, I did not enter the FTP. in front of the FTP adress for Adtrackz. My FTP address is the main domain name on my hostgator home dir. so if it is ftp.yourmaindir.com - I was using yourmaindir.com when I entered it into the Adtrackz form and it worked for me. Make sure your user ID and password is correct. I would ask customer service to email it to you. they are great there and are really fast to respond. I love Hostgator.

I hope that answeres your question.
Tom

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the quick reply bud!

I'm actually using a shared server on GoDaddy. I always use "yourdomain.com" when ftp'ing with Filezilla or Dreamweaver . . . AdTrackz doesn't seem to like that though.

Finally had to email support after trying to figure it our for a couple of hours. Hopefully they'll have an answer for me.

errrrrrr . . . .

Thanks for your Help,

Sean
